The West Texas Intermediate for December delivery went up 91 cents, or 1.51 percent, to settle at 61.04 U.S. dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for January delivery gained 1.1 dollars, or 1.72 percent, to settle at 65.16 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
