Oriented on making people closer

On Friday, in the new administrative center of the Akhal region, on the site of the construction of a mosque, which will become the spiritual pier of the city being built from scratch in the foothills of the Kopetdag, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty, the Upper House of the Turkmen Parliament, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, gave sadaka.

The collective meal in the tradition of the Turkmen people has many-valued social functions, it has its own etiquette and rituals. Often it marks the beginning or completion of a large and important work, as in this case - the start of the construction of a new mosque, designed for five and a half thousand people.

In any case, sadaka is a symbolic expression of the unity of people, society. Friday is also a special day for Muslims. Therefore, the coincidence of the festive sadaka with the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad is also symbolic.

In a conversation with the clergy, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed hope that the start of the construction of the mosque would be a prologue to many good deeds in the new center of the Akhal region.

Before the start of the ceremony, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov addressed the participants of the festive sadaka. He noted that the Day of Remembrance was held in the country yesterday. In accordance with customs, rituals were performed in memory of the victims of the earthquake and wars. And today, in the new center of Ahal, a festive sadaka is given as a good wish for the future.

After observance of religious rites, a lunch was held with treats from traditional dishes of Turkmen cuisine, which ended with a prayer.
