In Turkmenistan, the procedure for collecting a numbering resource from a telecom operator has been approved. The decree on this was signed by the head of state during a government meeting on Friday.

The basic concepts and rules concerning the numbering resource are laid down in the Law of Turkmenistan "On Communications". It states that the numbering resource should be understood as a set or part of numbering options (numeric, alphabetic, symbolic designations) that can be used in communication networks for identification.

Regulation of this resource belongs exclusively to the competence of the State, which grants the authorized body (communications agency) the right to change, withdraw in whole or in part the numbering resource allocated to the operator (Article 11 of the law "On Communications").

The operator who has received the numbering resource independently allocates numbers for subscribers and users of communication services, assigns identification codes of network elements, access codes to communication services on its network from the numbering resource allocated to it
