The diplomatic and cultural ties between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, have received another striking and symbolic confirmation. National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty (People's Council), Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, presented the Rais of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, with two purebred Turkmen Alabai puppies—a male named Alabai and a female named Aladzha. Batyr Rejepov, Vice President of the International Association of Turkmen Alabai Dogs, presented the official certificate for the purebred puppies, born in March of this year, to the head of the Russian region in Kazan.
This gift was a direct continuation of a personal friendship and a beautiful tradition established several years ago. During the recent visit of Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Kazan to participate in the KazanForum International Economic Forum, Rustam Minnikhanov showed the distinguished guest the magnificent growth of his first Turkmen pet, an alabai named Akdus, given to him in 2021.
Accepting the gift, the Rais of Tatarstan expressed his sincere gratitude to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the entire fraternal people of Turkmenistan for their consistently warm and special attitude toward the republic. Along with the regional leader, the little Alabai and Aladja were enthusiastically greeted by the students of the Kazan "Young Cynologist" club. Professional trainers from the Federation of Sports and Applied Canine Breeding conducted an open lesson for them, explaining the unique character, loyalty, endurance, and millennia-long history of the Turkmen Alabai, a living treasure and a national symbol of pride for Turkmenistan.
