President of Turkmenistan receives Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey
01.08.2024 | 20:50 |On Wednesday, July 31, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Turkey Alparslan Bayraktar.
During the meeting, the head of state noted the high importance of cooperation between the two countries in energy, industry, transport and communications, and other areas. The President defined the priorities for cooperation in the gas, gas chemical, and electric power industries, and also formulated the tasks of joint activities for the future, the state news agency TDH reports.
Alparslan Bayraktar assured the President of Turkmenistan of Turkey's readiness to strengthen relations across the entire spectrum of cooperation, including energy.
During his visit to Ashgabat on July 30-31, Minister Bayraktar also met with the heads of a number of structures. "The possibilities of practical implementation of projects for the supply of Turkmen natural gas to Turkey, the development of the Turkmen oil and gas chemical industry were considered," TDH reports.
Earlier, Turkish companies, as part of international consortiums, took part in the construction of large enterprises in Turkmenistan for the production of carbamide, liquid ammonia, sulfuric acid, and synthetic gasoline.
During Bayraktar's current visit, the possibility of the Turkish side's participation in the development of mineral deposits in Turkmenistan - potassium salt, iodine, metal ores, and the creation of high-tech and export-oriented industries was also discussed.
Another topic of negotiations was the supply of electricity from Turkmenistan to Turkey, including from a 1,574-megawatt power plant being built in the Balkan region.
