Ashgabat and Baku Promote Sectoral Dialogue: Focus on Urban Development and Horse Breeding

As part of the working visit of Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Azerbaijan, an active dialogue took place between the heads of relevant ministries and departments. The focus was on such areas of bilateral cooperation as innovative urban development and the development of horse breeding.

"Smart City" Arkadag as a Model for Cooperation in Construction

At the meetings, the parties discussed in detail the current state and strategic vectors for the development of relations in the construction sector. It was noted that Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan have enormous untapped potential for expanding partnership in this area. The discussion was not only about exchanging best practices in mastering modern technologies and scientific achievements in construction, but also about establishing cooperation in the production of building materials.

The architectural solution and concept of the "smart city" Arkadag, built in Turkmenistan, aroused particular interest on the part of the Azerbaijani side. This unique city, which has no analogues in the region, has become a shining example of the successful implementation of digital, information and communication and "green" technologies. The meeting participants familiarized themselves in detail with the projects planned for the second stage of the development of Arkadag and discussed the possibilities of participation of Azerbaijani companies in them.

Representatives of the fraternal country expressed deep interest in expanding the areas of cooperation with Turkmenistan, which has established itself as a reliable international partner. They confirmed their readiness to make every effort to jointly implement tasks and achieve mutually beneficial agreements, which would be a logical continuation of the efforts of the heads of the two states.

Horse Breeding: Sharing Ancient Heritage and Best Practices

Special attention was paid to cooperation in the horse breeding industry, an area of particular historical and cultural significance for both nations. It was emphasized that horses have always been faithful companions of the Turkmen and Azerbaijani peoples.

In Turkmenistan, thanks to the efforts of the National Leader, a modern systemic basis for the development of horse breeding has been formed that meets international standards. In particular, the International Academy of Horse Breeding named after Aba Annayev operates in the city of Arkadag, training highly qualified specialists for the industry. This experience was presented in detail to Azerbaijani colleagues.

The heads of specialized institutions of the two countries agreed that the establishment of direct cooperation between horse breeders and breeding specialists will create favorable opportunities for mutual enrichment of the experience accumulated in this ancient and important industry. The Turkmen delegation got acquainted with Azerbaijan's achievements in horse breeding, and it was especially noted that both countries have achieved significant success in equestrian sports and circus arts involving horses.

Negotiations with relevant structures in Baku demonstrated the interest of both sides in expanding practical cooperation and joint projects.
