Chrome for Android to feature bottom address bar

Google developers have begun implementing a new feature for the Chrome browser on Android devices, allowing users to position the address bar at the bottom of the screen. This marks the first significant alteration to its placement and will soon be accessible to all smartphone and tablet owners.

Upon the feature's rollout, users will receive a notification prompting them to relocate the address bar by long-pressing it. This action will open a menu, providing options to select the new interface element's position and copy the current link. A new section titled "Address Bar" will also appear within the browser settings. Once relocated, the address bar will be displayed at the bottom alongside familiar elements such as open tabs and the three-dot menu, preserving the accustomed interface interaction. This functionality is available in Chrome version 138.

Following years of consistent design, this innovation offers Chrome for Android users long-awaited flexibility in interface customization, adapting it to the contemporary requirements of mobile devices.
