China calls for joint efforts for peace and stability at Beijing forum
In a world where instability is becoming the norm, dialogue and cooperation remain the main tools for preserving peace. When nearly a hundred countries gather around one table, it signals that common threats can only be addressed together, setting aside differences and focusing on what matters most — security and stability for all.
Chinese Minister of National Defence Dong Jun said on Tuesday that the Chinese military is ready to cooperate with all parties to deepen practical interaction, jointly address global security challenges and resolutely safeguard peace and stability worldwide and in the region. Dong made the statement during separate meetings in Beijing with representatives of the defence departments of Myanmar, Brunei, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia, as well as with ASEAN Secretary-General Kao Kim Hourn, ahead of the 13th Beijing Xiangshan Forum, to be held from Tuesday to Thursday.
Dong welcomed the guests of the Beijing Xiangshan Forum, noting that over the past 20 years the forum has upheld the principles of equality, openness, inclusiveness and mutual learning, contributing to strengthening peace and cooperation and enhancing common security. He said that amid growing instability and uncertainty in the world, the Chinese military is ready to cooperate with all parties to realise the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind and the four major global initiatives.
This year's forum, held under the theme "Building Consensus on Stability, Jointly Developing Security Governance," attracted participants from nearly 100 countries, regions and international organisations. Over the past two decades, the forum has become an important international public good, providing a platform for equal dialogue and joint efforts to achieve global peace.
As reported by CCTV+, the Beijing Xiangshan Forum confirmed its role as a key platform for discussing security and cooperation. Nearly a hundred participating countries and China's readiness for joint work demonstrate that even in complex geopolitical conditions, dialogue remains in demand and effective.
