An international transport conference has started its work in Ashgabat
The international conference "International Transport and Transit Corridors: interconnection and development" has started its work at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.
The event was attended by about 300 delegates representing relevant departments of Turkmenistan, transport companies and associations from various parts of the world.
In the welcoming address of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, it was emphasized to the conference participants that the official Ashgabat is aimed at further expanding the infrastructure of the main transport and transit corridors connecting important highways and hubs in the East–West and North–South directions.
Opening the plenary session of the conference, Chairman of the Agency "Turkmenhowayollary" Dovran Saburov spoke about the opportunities created in Turkmenistan for the transit of goods through the infrastructure provided at the country's international airports.
Turkmenistan's Permanent Representative to the UN Office in Geneva Atageltdy Khaljanov spoke about the promotion of the country's initiatives aimed at the development of international transport and transit corridors.
The participants paid great attention to the issues of post-pandemic restoration of freight and passenger transportation, new opportunities for cooperation, and solving existing issues in the relevant field.
