The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan discussed the resumption of the Partnership Program between the US Central Command, the US National Guard Bureau and the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan, reported on the website of the Foreign Ministry.
The talks were held with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Major General, Adjutant General of Montana, Commander of the Montana National Guard and Director of the Montana Department of Military Affairs John P. Hronek.
The sides expressed their readiness to develop and strengthen military cooperation in accordance with the norms of the Constitutional Law of Turkmenistan "On Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan" and the Military Doctrine of the country, which is purely defensive in nature.
Earlier, within the framework of the mentioned Cooperation Program, a number of productive exchanges, trainings and initiatives were held between the military departments of the United States and Turkmenistan, which were implemented by the Nevada National Guard. The events were held both in Ashgabat and outside Turkmenistan.
The parties also considered the possibilities of cooperation in the following areas:
– response and elimination of consequences of natural disasters and emergencies,
– cyber protection and security,
– engineering and construction activities, etc.
