Tashkent hosts first international jewelry exhibition
28.05.2023 | 16:32 |On May 27-28, Tashkent hosts the first International Exhibition and Sale of Modern Equipment, Technologies and Jewelry “Uzbek Jewelery Fair-2023”. The exhibition is attended by Uzbek and leading world jewelry manufacturers, representatives of wholesale and retail trade, logistics companies providing services for the import and export of jewelry from more than 10 countries, including Italy, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
At the opening of the exhibition, it was noted that in recent years Uzbekistan has implemented systematic measures aimed at developing the jewelry business and turning the sphere into one of the important industries. In particular, a solid legal framework has been created, the sale of precious metals through the Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange is allowed with a 15 percent advance payment of the cost and a 180-day payment deferral condition. The number of manufacturing enterprises in the industry increased by 4.2 times compared to 2017 and reached 448, while the number of people employed in the sector increased to 4.5 thousand people. New production companies have been created in the jewelry industry, such as Sofizar, Gavhar Jewel Group, Fonon, according to the website of the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The stands of the exhibitors present jewelry made of silver, gold, other precious metals and stones, jewelry, fashion accessories, collections of watches and wall clocks. Modern equipment, tools, fittings, new technologies used in production are also demonstrated.
Visitors can not only get acquainted with the products, but also purchase them at attractive prices.
As part of the Uzbek Jewelery Fair-2023 business program, B2B meetings were organized, which will allow establishing close cooperation between domestic and foreign companies.
According to the results, among the jewelry manufacturers, the winner and prize- winners of the “Charming East” contest will be determined, who will be awarded the Uzbek Jewelery Awards.
