Turkmenistan and TURKSOY will hold a series of joint events in the organization’s member countries
06.02.2024 | 20:54 |The organization of joint events was discussed by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) Sultanbai Raev at a meeting in Ashgabat on Tuesday, February 6.
Current issues were put on the agenda of the meeting, and promising vectors of interaction between Turkmenistan and TURKSOY were outlined. It was noted that cultural interaction is the core on the basis of which Turkic-speaking countries build political, diplomatic, trade and economic relations with each other, according to a press release from the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
2024 is a landmark year for Turkmenistan in the Turkic-speaking world, since through TURKSOY it has been declared the Year of the great poet and thinker of the Turkic world - Magtymguly Fragi, including the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great classic of Eastern literature, and the ancient Turkmen city of Anau - the cultural capital of the Turkic peace.
In this context, the parties discussed an extensive program of joint activities for holding upcoming events, their organizational and content aspects, both in Turkmenistan and in all member countries of the TURKSOY organization.
During the meeting, an exchange of views also took place on the popularization of Magtymguly’s creativity and the cultural significance of the city of Anau on various international platforms, such as TURKSOY, UN, UNESCO, etc.
