 A meeting of the CIS Foreign Ministers was held in Minsk

The heads and representatives of the foreign ministries of the CIS countries in Minsk summed up the results of cooperation over the past year and adopted a number of statements. In particular, the participants of the April 12 meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) adopted a joint statement on ensuring safe conditions for the professional activities of journalists and preventing infringement of their rights.

Also, the delegations of the diplomatic departments of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan adopted a statement declaring Ganja the sports capital of the CIS in 2025 and Almaty in 2026.

In addition, they adopted a statement on the basic CIS organizations for research on military security issues, in the field of training, retraining and advanced training of personnel for judicial systems. A statement was adopted in connection with the 30th anniversary of the granting of observer status to the CIS at the UN General Assembly.

Representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs approved, for consideration by the heads of State of the Commonwealth, a decision on the establishment of a single jubilee medal "80 years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945" and on a draft convention on the legal status of delegations sent to the CIS member States.

The next meeting of the CIS Council of Ministers will be held on October 7 in Moscow.
