Meeting of the ambassadors of Turkmenistan and Iraq in Abu Dhabi: issues of interaction were discussed
19.07.2024 | 15:15 |On July 16, a meeting was held at the Iraqi Embassy in Abu Dhabi between Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the UAE Serdar Garajayev and Ambassador of Iraq Dr. Mudhafar Al-Jbori. During the meeting, current relations between Turkmenistan and Iraq were discussed, including the recent visit of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq to Ashgabat and signing the contract for the swap supply of natural gas from Turkmenistan to Iraq via Iran.
In addition to energy, the diplomats exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation in the fields of transport and petrochemicals, and spoke in favor of expanding economic, cultural and educational ties.
According to the Turkmen diplomatic mission, the meeting focused on the participation of the Iraqi leadership in the International Forum of Heads of State and Government dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi, which will be held in October 2024 in Ashgabat.
The same topic became key at the meeting of the Turkmen Ambassador to the UAE Foreign Ministry with head of the Western Asia Department Abdulaziz Al Neyadi, which also took place on Wednesday.
