Oriented on making people closer

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan Nurlan Nogayev, who presented his credentials to the head of state. The diplomat conveyed greetings from Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the President of the country and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, noting that his country attaches great importance to strengthening the traditional ties of friendship with Turkmenistan.

During the exchange of views on the state and prospects of bilateral relations, it was stated that, based on common cultural and historical values, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan have formed a solid foundation for interaction, which in the modern era serves as a model of interstate partnership.

Particular emphasis was placed on the positive nature of cooperation within international structures such as the UN, OSCE, ECO, and CIS. In this regard, the success of coordination of efforts on the platform of regional mechanisms, in particular, the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and cooperation in the “Central Asia Plus” format, was noted. This was reported in the electronic edition of the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper on July 18.

During the discussion of trade and economic cooperation, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Ambassador Nurlan Nogayev expressed the unanimous opinion that the huge reserves of natural resources and favorable geographical features of the two countries create opportunities for the implementation of mutually beneficial projects in these areas.

Attention was also paid to cultural and humanitarian ties, including in the context of the widely celebrated 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen thinker and poet Magtymguly Fragi. In this aspect, the installation of a sculpture of the famous Kazakh composer and musician Kurmangazy Sagyrbayuly in the recently opened cultural and park complex “Makhtumkuli Fragi” was noted in Ashgabat.

At the meeting it was emphasized that one of the indicators of dynamically developing relations in this area are joint creative forums. It was noted that on June 25-27, the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan were successfully held in Kazakhstan, and on July 4, during the visit of National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, a monument to Magtymguly was inaugurated in Astana.
