The management of the State Concern "Turkmengaz" and Minister of Industry and Advanced Technologies of the UAE, Director General of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) Sultan Ahmed Al-Jaber reviewed a wide range of issues of cooperation in the gas sector.
In particular, during the negotiations held on Saturday, July 20, via video link, the topics of development of the Galkynysh gas field and the participation of ADNOC in the implementation of international energy projects carried out by Turkmenistan were discussed, according to a press release of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
It is noted that ADNOC has been closely cooperating with the State Concern “Turkmengaz” since 2023 in accordance with international standards and practices in conducting work in the gas sector.
Following the video meeting, the Turkmen and Emirati sides confirmed their mutual intention to continue the partnership and strengthen its legal framework, and consider certain economic and technological aspects related to the projects being implemented.
At the beginning of 2024, during the working visit of Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the UAE, the state concern “Turkmengaz” and ADNOC signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which reflects the parties’ intention to work together to develop the third stage of the supergiant Galkynysh field.
The legal basis of Turkmen-Emirati relations in the fuel and energy sector was also enriched by the signed Memorandum of Cooperation between the “Turkmengaz” State Concern and ADNOC, which expressed the parties’ desire to explore the possibilities of scientific, technical and economic cooperation in the field of reducing methane emissions into the atmosphere.
