17.09.2024 | 21:40 |At a recent meeting in Beijing, held at the China University of Petroleum, key issues of cooperation between Turkmenistan and China were discussed. The event was organized in honor of the beginning of the new academic year, the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi and the 33rd anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence. The event was hosted by Ambassador of Turkmenistan to China Parahat Durdyev. Particular attention was paid to the presence of representatives of the State Concern "Turkmengas" and the branch of CNPC Corporation in Turkmenistan, who are in China on a working visit. These representatives play a key role in strengthening the strategic energy partnership between the two countries, which makes their participation in this event especially significant.
CNPC's Role in Energy Cooperation with Turkmenistan
Ambassador Durdyev emphasized the importance of the Chinese company CNPC in the energy sector of Turkmenistan. CNPC not only actively participates in the development and management of large energy projects in the country, but also ensures their safety and environmental friendliness. Thanks to the created organizational and legal platform, CNPC successfully implements projects in Turkmenistan, strengthening bilateral relations and supporting the energy security of the region.
Training young professionals: CNPC's new project
As part of expanding cooperation with Turkmenistan, CNPC has launched a project to train young professionals in 2024-2025. A group of Turkmen students have been sent to the China University of Petroleum to study in petroleum engineering, geology, chemical engineering and other key specialties. The training includes a preliminary one-year course in Chinese, which ensures the successful integration of students into the educational process.
History of cooperation and achievements
Since 2009, the CNPCIT branch has been sending Turkmen students to the China University of Petroleum in Beijing as part of the implementation of the Production Sharing Agreement with the “Turkmengas” State Corporation. Over the 15 years of the branch's activity, more than fifty students have been sent, most of whom are already working in the oil and gas sector of Turkmenistan.
The university graduates receive an international diploma and some of them continue their education in master's and doctoral programs. CNPCIT also organized a summer training and familiarization practice for students of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas in China and an industrial practice on the right bank of the Amu Darya, where comprehensive activities are carried out on the development and production of natural gas.
Turkmenistan and China remain key partners in natural gas trade. The training programs contribute to the development of talent in the oil and gas industry and strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy and scientific education.
