International Youth Scientific Conference: A Bridge to Peace and Tolerance

On October 31st and November 1st, the Minsk State Linguistic University hosted an international youth scientific conference titled “Мир и толерантность через изучение языков и гражданское образование” (Peace and Tolerance through Language Learning and Civic Education). On October 31st and November 1st, the Minsk State Linguistic University hosted an international youth scientific conference titled “Мир и толерантность через изучение языков и гражданское образование” (Peace and Tolerance through Language Learning and Civic Education). The event brought together young scholars, educators, and experts from various countries to discuss the crucial role of language and education in fostering peace and understanding.

The conference featured a series of plenary sessions and workshops, covering a wide range of topics such as social upbringing and youth in a transitional society, civic consciousness and patriotism among students, intercultural dialogue and language education, the role of art in shaping perceptions, the impact of historical memory on intercultural communication, the influence of technology on individual identity, the importance of world culture in personal development, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between nations, the formation of civic consciousness and patriotism in different cultures were discussed.

In addition to the in-person participants, the conference also welcomed digital connections from UNESCO clubs and departments in Turkmenistan, including the UNESCO Club “Culture of Peace” of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. This allowed for a broader exchange of ideas and perspectives on the conference themes.

The event concluded with a series of recommendations aimed at promoting peace, tolerance, and intercultural understanding through education. Participants emphasized the importance of continued dialogue, collaboration, and innovative approaches to address the challenges of the XXI century.
