Turkmenistan Participates in the International Conference "Global Mountain Dialogue" in Bishkek
24.04.2025 | 18:10 |On April 24–25, 2025, the city of Bishkek is hosting the international conference “Global Mountain Dialogue for Sustainable Development: Towards the Bishkek+25 Summit.”
The forum is attended by the delegation of Turkmenistan led by Minister of Environmental Protection Ch.Babaniyazov, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, as well as representatives of a number of foreign countries and international organizations.
In his address, Minister Ch.Babaniyazov emphasized the importance of international cooperation in preserving mountain ecosystems, protecting biological diversity, and adapting to changing climate conditions. It was noted that under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan, active efforts are being undertaken to expand the network of specially protected natural areas, including the initiative to establish new reserves in the Uly and Kichi Balkan mountain ranges.
Special attention was given to transboundary water cooperation, as well as joint work with the Republic of Uzbekistan on the preparation of a transnational nomination dossier for the inclusion of the Koytendag ecosystem complex in the UNESCO World Natural Heritage List.
On the sidelines of the conference, Minister Ch. Babaniyazov held a meeting with the Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. M. Mashiev.
