The State Migration Service of Turkmenistan Is Implementing New Technologies and Expanding International Dialogue

The State Migration Service of Turkmenistan demonstrates a consistent commitment to integrating leading global practices and technological innovations into the national migration control and management system. As part of a comprehensive strategy to develop the agency and strengthen international cooperation, representatives of the service participated in a number of major international and regional events in June of this year.
The Turkmen delegation's participation in the Identity Week Europe 2026 international exhibition and conference, held in Amsterdam, marked an important step in technological modernization. At this prestigious European venue, service specialists were given a detailed overview of the latest developments from global manufacturers in biometric documents, IT security, and digital identification systems, opening up new prospects for the further implementation of high-tech methods in the national migration system.
At the same time, the agency is actively developing partnerships with key UN humanitarian institutions to ensure regional stability. A specialized two-day seminar, organized by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), was held at the United Nations in Ashgabat. Together with international experts, specialists from the State Migration Service and other relevant ministries of Turkmenistan conducted a comprehensive analysis of global practices for preventing illegal migration.
The roundtable discussions placed particular emphasis on the principles of integrated and humanitarian border management, as well as the potential for implementing modern IT platforms capable of automating monitoring processes and significantly increasing the transparency and security of cross-border flows in line with international standards.
A key area of the service's internal modernization has been the advanced training of specialists responsible for information support and public relations. A practical seminar for press service staff was recently held at the OSCE Center in Ashgabat. During the training, which included international experts, representatives of the migration service learned modern mechanisms for strategic communications planning, methods for operational interaction with the media, and the basics of preparing official statements and public speeches.
The active participation of State Migration Service specialists in such international platforms not only contributes to the growth of their professional potential but also serves as a clear demonstration of Turkmenistan's responsible approach to implementing its humanitarian policy and strengthening mutual trust in the global arena.
