Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Received Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy
On July 7, National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty (People's Council), Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, met with Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who was visiting Turkmenistan.
The guest conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from President Ilham Aliyev, emphasizing that Baku highly values the level of strategic interstate dialogue. Mikayil Jabbarov also expressed sincere admiration for Turkmenistan's rapid socioeconomic development and Ashgabat's modern architectural appearance.
During the conversation, the parties emphasized that relations between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan are developing on a solid foundation of good-neighborliness, mutual respect, and shared historical and cultural ties. Regular high-level contacts have opened a new chapter in the history of bilateral relations, creating favorable conditions for deepening trade and economic ties.
In this context, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the significance of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov's recent state visit to Baku and expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani side for the vessel "Dostluk," presented as a gift to the Turkmen people as a symbol of unbreakable friendship.
Particular attention at the meeting was given to the humanitarian track. A striking example of the mutual enrichment of cultures were the cross-cultural Days, successfully held in Baku, Ganja, Ashgabat, and the city of Arkadag.
The environmental agenda will be an important area of interaction in the near future. The National Leader of the Turkmen people emphasized the well-organized preparations for the international event, "He reported that active preparations are currently underway for the international event "Ene-tebigat" ("Mother Nature").
The forum will be held in Turkmenistan from October 19 to November 30 this year and will be jointly organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care. This large-scale initiative is expected to take cooperation between these two prestigious humanitarian organizations to a whole new level.
