From July 6 to 20, a specialized seminar for Turkmen civil servants is being held in the People's Republic of China. The main topic of the two-week intensive course is the working mechanisms of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and integration into the global economy.

The educational program was organized by the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) in Beijing. In addition to the theoretical course in the Chinese capital, the Turkmen delegation will go on a study expedition to Fujian Province, where they will visit the major economic centers of Fuqing and Fuzhou.

Why Does Turkmenistan Need China's Experience in the WTO?

In a globalized world, mastery of WTO mechanisms is key to protecting national economic interests. China, one of the organization's most influential members, has accumulated extensive practical experience in reforms and global trade governance. Its development model serves as a valuable reference point for Turkmenistan, which is actively pursuing WTO accession.

The seminar aims to enhance the competencies of Turkmen specialists in the following areas:

— Developing an effective national trade policy;

— Coordinating international rules and conducting complex trade negotiations;

— Managing trade and economic processes based on the realities of Turkmenistan.

12 Steps to Understanding the Global Market

A comprehensive program of 12 core courses was developed specifically for Turkmenistan's civil servants. It combines in-depth theory with real-world economic case studies.

The curriculum is divided into three key blocks:

— Fundamental WTO Rules: A study of multilateral trading mechanisms, dispute resolution procedures, and the enforcement of obligations.

— Reform Practices: A detailed analysis of China's political experience and the institutional reforms Beijing has undertaken since joining the WTO.

— Future Trends: Digital and cross-border trade, new global rules, simplified customs procedures, and regional agreements.

The training is interactive. Instead of boring lectures, the focus is on analyzing specific precedents, modeling situations, and developing practical strategies for integrating Turkmenistan into the global trading system.
