The ECO Cultural Institute (ECI) has launched a new series of international seminars titled "Regional Cooperation for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage in ECO Member States." The initiative aims to bring together experts, academics, and practitioners to protect the region's rich traditions and living cultural heritage.

In his remarks, ECI Executive Director Mehrdad Rakhshandeh emphasized that intangible cultural heritage is a vital resource for sustainable development, social cohesion, and cultural diplomacy. He stressed that safeguarding these values should be seen not merely as an effort to preserve the past, but as a direct investment in the future.

During the inaugural session, experts from across the region, including representatives of UNESCO National Commissions and research institutions, discussed the significance of the Silk Road as a historic corridor of cultural exchange. Participants called for greater exchange of expertise, joint research initiatives, and stronger institutional cooperation to ensure that the region's unique cultural diversity is preserved and passed on to future generations.
