Malaysia Opens New Tourism Opportunities for Turkmenistan

Malaysia is actively strengthening tourism cooperation with Turkmenistan. The first specialized meeting of tourism industry representatives from the two countries was held in Ashgabat to promote the global "Visit Malaysia 2026" campaign.
The development of this cooperation has been made possible by regular direct flights between Ashgabat and Kuala Lumpur. These direct connections make travel faster and more convenient for beach holidays, business trips, and educational travel.
Interest among Turkmen citizens in visiting Malaysia is growing rapidly. Over the past year, the number of tourists increased by more than 42%, surpassing 10,000 visitors, and this positive trend has continued throughout the current year.
Malaysia attracts visitors with its unique natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and high level of safety. In addition, the country is recognized as one of the world's leading destinations for Muslim travelers thanks to its well-developed halal infrastructure and welcoming environment.
The meeting held in Ashgabat enabled Turkmen travel agencies to establish direct contacts with Malaysian partners. For travelers, this is expected to result in more attractive travel packages, special offers, and exciting tour itineraries in the near future.
