Turkmenistan and Abu Dhabi Cycling Club to Hold Training Camp in Ashgabat


A joint training camp for the Turkmenistan cycling team and athletes from the renowned Abu Dhabi Cycling Club (AAC) will be held in Ashgabat. Preparations for the international sporting events were discussed at a Cabinet of Ministers meeting on Friday.
The camp program includes not only intensive road and track training at Ashgabat's high-tech sports infrastructure but also specialized training seminars for coaches and riders. The focus will be on sharing international experience, mastering modern training methods, and improving the skills of Turkmen athletes.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the priority of systematically developing mass and high-performance sports in the country. The head of state emphasized the importance of creating all the necessary conditions for identifying and supporting young talent and instructed that the upcoming training camps be organized at a high level.
Sports cooperation with the UAE club underscores Ashgabat's growing status as a major Asian cycling center, boasting a unique facility in the form of the Olympic Village indoor velodrome, which meets the highest standards of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI).
