A delegation from the Afghan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) paid an official visit to Turkmenistan on the invitation of the country's CCI to discuss ways to expand economic, trade, and transit cooperation. During talks with representatives of the ACCI, railways, and other transport agencies of Turkmenistan, the Afghan side proposed creating a new transit corridor from Turkmenabat to the northern regions of Afghanistan with access to Mazar-i-Sharif.

During the visit, the parties discussed issues such as removing trade barriers, developing border infrastructure around the Aqina and Torghundi crossings, joint investments, and deepening cooperation in the oil, gas, and energy sectors. Afghan business representatives proposed inviting a delegation of 100 Turkmen entrepreneurs and investors to the country for a detailed assessment of trade and logistics potential, TOLOnews reports.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan supported the proposal to send a business mission and confirmed its readiness to consistently strengthen bilateral ties. Experts note Turkmenistan's strategic role in ensuring regional energy security and implementing major infrastructure projects, including the TAPI gas pipeline and joint power lines.
