Turkmenistan scholars Ayna Baimuradova, candidate of Historical Sciences, ethnographer, doctoral student at the Institute of History and Archaeology of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and Toyly Khommyev, senior lecturer at the Magtymguly Turkmen State University, visited the Shigabutdin Marjani Institute of History of the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences in Kazan on a familiarization visit.

During a meeting with the Institute's Director, Radik Salikhov, and staff members of the Ethnological Research Department, the parties discussed key areas of joint work and areas of overlapping research interests in ethnology and traditional culture.

Particular attention was paid to academic publications and scientific exchange during the talks. Radik Salikhov introduced the guests to the Institute's periodicals and encouraged Turkmen researchers to actively publish their research in Kazan scientific journals.

Representatives of Turkmenistan's academic community already have successful experience collaborating with their Tatarstan colleagues. In particular, Toyly Khommyev regularly contributes articles to the journal "Historical Ethnology," published by the Sh. Marjani Institute. His recent works include research on respect for the elder generation in Turkmen rural communities and golden eagle hunting traditions.

The visit of the Turkmen researchers underscored the shared interest in deepening cultural and historical dialogue and creating new joint projects between scientific centers in Turkmenistan and Tatarstan.
