Google Pics: New AI Graphics Editor Will Compete with Canva and Adobe

Google has launched a new AI-powered graphics editor called Google Pics. The service is designed to make it simple and fast to create everyday visual content, including posters, illustrations, and social media posts.
The tool aims to simplify the work of users who regularly need high-quality designs without having to use complex professional software. Unlike traditional graphics editors, the creative process in Google Pics does not start with a blank canvas. Users simply need to enter a text prompt or upload an existing source image. Powered by Google’s Nano Banana neural model, the service automatically generates the requested graphics and offers several ready-made options to choose from.
Key features of the service:
• Object editing: smart selection and instant transformation of elements in photos.
• Text editing: editing text and automatically translating captions directly within images into 29 languages.
• Collaboration: the ability to create and edit projects together with colleagues in real time.
The service is already integrated into Google Docs and Slides, and will soon also become available in Google Drive.
Google Pics is currently available to subscribers of the premium Google AI Pro and Ultra plans, educational institutions through Google AI Pro for Education, as well as corporate users of Google Workspace. Google’s new tool offers an accessible solution for quickly creating high-quality illustrations.
