Plans are underway to introduce a robotic passenger assistant on Russian trains. Oleg Belozerov, CEO of Russian Railways (RZD), announced the potential launch while speaking at the "Znanie.Pervye" educational marathon, held as part of the World Youth Festival.

According to the company's head, the robot has already undergone testing during a trial run of the high-speed Sapsan train. Russian Railways is now considering the possibility of deploying the robot for actual passenger service.

Robotization of the Transport Sector

The project reflects the development of robotic technologies within the Russian transport sector. It is envisioned that a robot attendant will be able to perform some of the tasks associated with passenger service.

However, according to Belozerov, robotic systems will not completely replace human staff; the operation of robotic units and decision-making will remain in human hands.

The head of Russian Railways also noted that the role of a train attendant involves direct interaction with passengers and requires a human touch.

Development of Robotics

Robotic technologies are also advancing in other sectors of the Russian economy. PJSC KamAZ plans to enter the market with its own proprietary anthropomorphic robots. The company is currently conducting pilot tests of these units within its facilities.

The systems under development are designed to perform tasks currently carried out manually by humans; their design and anthropometric parameters are modeled on the capabilities of the human hand.

The development of such technologies demonstrates the expanding scope of robotic solutions in the transport and industrial sectors.
