President Serdar Berdimuhamedov Receives Iranian Foreign Minister

On November 2, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, who arrived in Ashgabat on an official visit.
During the conversation, the Iranian Foreign Minister conveyed warm greetings from the President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, to the leadership of Turkmenistan, emphasizing the priority placed on relations with the neighboring state. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed his confidence that the visit of the Iranian Foreign Minister would provide fresh momentum to deepening the interstate dialogue, which is built upon a solid foundation of friendship and good-neighborliness.
The two sides noted that constructive engagement with neighboring countries remains a consistent pillar of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy. Political and diplomatic contacts between Ashgabat and Tehran are developing successfully, both on a bilateral basis and within the frameworks of prominent international organizations.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to the outcomes of recent large-scale events held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, which hosted a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State and the Caspian Environmental Summit in October. The President of Turkmenistan and the Foreign Minister of Iran noted the significant practical contribution of these forums, as well as the personal participation of President Masoud Pezeshkian in strengthening regional partnership.
The two sides also held a substantive discussion on the expansion of trade and economic ties—an area in which Iran serves as one of the country’s key partners—and underscored the importance of the humanitarian dimension. Centuries-old historical, cultural, and spiritual bonds provide a solid foundation for bringing the two fraternal nations closer together and expanding exchanges across all promising areas of cooperation.
