Turkmenistan's export growth is ensured by the non-hydrocarbon sector


The growth in world prices for hydrocarbon resources contributed to an increase in the country's exports: in January-February 2018, it increased by 14.2% compared with January-February 2017. In particular, the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan recorded an increase in exports of natural gas by its cost by 15.6%, while a decrease in its physical volumes by 9.7%, petroleum products - by 7.2% and 7.4%, respectively. During the same period, both physical and value volumes of wool exports increased (an increase of 68.4% and 63.7%, respectively), along with leather raw materials (9.1% and 7.6%), confectionery products (2.9% times and 2.6 times), sulfur (2.7 times and 2.5 times), and cement (12.4 times and 16.1 times). The growth rate of export supplies of cotton yarn amounted to 7.3%, knitwear - 12.1 times, knitted fabrics - 24.1%, clothing - 8.2%. The tendency of the increase in the export of vegetables is growing (the growth rate is 2.3 times). The exported supplies included mainly fresh tomatoes (94.3% of the export of vegetables). Turkmenistan in January-February 2018 had foreign trade relations with 74 countries, the main of which are China, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and Afghanistan. And the biggest increase in export deliveries was to Georgia - it increased by 9.2 times.
