The new diplomatic representative of Pakistan in Turkmenistan Murad Ashraf Janjua, presenting his credentials to President Berdymukhamedov, noted the relevance of his proposals for the creation of international pipelines to ensure regional energy security. According to the TDH news agency, during the meeting the topic of increasing the pace of the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline was discussed. In this regard, the Ambassador voiced the position of his country, according to which the implementation of the TAPI project will enable the rapid growth of the economies participating in the project and enhance their interaction. The diplomat also noted the importance of increasing the volumes of Turkmen electricity supplied to Pakistan. Four days earlier, the head of the foreign policy department of Turkmenistan has also met with the Pakistani ambassador, having discussed the issues of the upcoming meeting of the bilateral intergovernmental commission. Here the key topic was the search for opportunities to speed up the construction of the international TAPI gas pipeline.
