New Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Azerbaijan
According to the Vesti.Az with the reference to the press relations service of the leader of Azerbaijan, President Ilham Aliyev received letters of credence from newly-appointed Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Azerbaijan Mekan Ishangulyyev. During the meeting, Ilham Aliyev underlined that the people of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan had been bounded with the ties of friendship and cooperation over the centuries. The leader of Azerbaijan noted that his country was interested in widening the dialogue with Turkmenistan in the political, economic, transport, humanitarian and other spheres. The Ambassador of Turkmenistan emphasized that President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the people of Turkmenistan were looking forward for the participation of the President of Azerbaijan in the V Asian Indoor and Martial Games to be held in Ashgabat this September. Noting that Turkmenistan is interested in the progressive development of relations with Azerbaijan, Mekan Ishangulyyev assured President Ilham Aliyev that he would apply every effort to strengthen relations between the two states.
