Turkmenistan is increasing gas resources through exploration and development of new fields
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, after a working trip to Mary region, where he visited the Galkynysh gas field and held a working meeting on the development of the fuel and energy complex, went on Tuesday to Lebap, to the Malay field.
Here, the Turkmen leader continued discussions with industry leaders on the solution of the program tasks of the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan, including the development of the resources of the Malay field and the exploration of new hydrocarbon deposits. This was reported in the evening news release of the Turkmen State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.
In particular, the message provided data from the Scientific-research institute of natural gas under the State Concern “Turkmengas” on two recently identified wells in the areas of Gunorta Mary and Demirgazyk dervush. As a result of the industrial development of these deposits, the volume of the country's gas resources is increasing by 126 billion cubic meters.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted three main tasks of the domestic fuel and energy complex - industrialization of the industry, meeting domestic needs and increasing exports.
In this context, the importance of increasing the science intensity of production and international cooperation in the field of production and processing of gas, one of the most demanded types of fuel in the world today, in view of its environmental friendliness, was emphasized.
