The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey issued a statement in connection with the early presidential elections held in Turkmenistan: "We are pleased that they were held in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility with a high turnout."

In a press release published on the department's website, says:

“We are pleased that the early presidential elections in Turkmenistan on March 12 were held in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility with a high turnout.

We attach great importance to the stability and prosperity of Turkmenistan, with which we have long-standing ties, and we hope that the results of the presidential elections will be favorable for friendly and fraternal Turkmenistan.”

The Turkish Foreign Ministry also confirmed "the will to further develop our relations and cooperation with fraternal Turkmenistan in all areas on the basis of mutual respect and common interests of our peoples in such a way that this also contributes to regional stability and prosperity in the coming period."
