Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea strengthen cooperation in transportation

A meeting between the “Turkmendemirollary” Agency and the heads and representatives of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea and Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) was held on 28 March 2022.

A video message from the President of the Korea Railroad Corporation Na Hee-seung, as well as a speech by the Director in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea Choi Jungmin were viewed during the online meeting.

The Turkmen side highlighted the initiatives of the President of Turkmenistan in the country’s transportation system, which are aimed in connecting main transportations corridors linking South-North and East-West routes. They also noted that the construction of railway corridors such as Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran, Serhetabat-Turgundi, Kerki-Imamnazar-Akina, Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan, along with the construction of high-speed motorways, airports and seaports are examples of the important role of these projects in effectively strengthening the relations between Turkmenistan and other countries of the region.

This seminar will continue until 1 April 2022 on expert level.
