Kuzbass aims for the Summer Games "Children of Asia"
The second Winter International Sports Games "Children of Asia", which were held from February 23 to March 5 in the Kemerovo region, were recognized as the best in history, TASS reports, citing the words of the head of the international committee of the Games, Vladimir Maksimov.
“The competition was a success, thanks to Kuzbass for such an organization,” he said, noting that by the end of the Games the athletes had become one team.
In turn, the governor of the Kemerovo region, Sergei Tsivilev, did not rule out the possibility of hosting the Summer Games "Children of Asia".
“If you recognized the winter “Children of Asia” as the best in history, then we should be given the opportunity to hold the best summer games,” Tsivilev said.
Summer Games "Children of Asia" will be held in 2024 in Yakutsk. Kuzbass plans to qualify for the 2028 competition.
According to the results of the second Winter International Sports Games "Children of Asia", the team of the Siberian Federal District took the first place in the unofficial medal standings, the team of Moscow took the second place, and the team of the Ural Federal District took the third place.
In total, about a thousand athletes from 12 countries participated in the competition.
