The Olympic Council of Asia holds a Forum of athletes
A two-day forum of athletes of the Olympic Council of Asia has started, which will bring together representatives of over 40 national Olympic committees.
Participants will discuss issues of ensuring safe competitions, protecting athletes, further development of their sports career, as well as the fight against doping.
In his video message to the Forum participants, the President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach praised the activities of the Olympic Council of Asia to expand the opportunities of athletes in the region.
"I am glad to see how the Olympic Council of Asia, through its Athletes' Commission, sets an example, expands the rights and opportunities of athletes," Bach said, noting that the OCA Athletes' Forum is primarily an opportunity for athletes who are the heart of the Olympic community to speak out on issues that affect them.
At the end of the event, a number of recommendations will be adopted to improve the Olympic movement in Asia.
