Two international forums dedicated to World Environment Day will be held in Turkmenistan, Deputy Prime Minister Annageldi Yazmyradov said at a Cabinet meeting on Friday.

World Environment Day is an environmental holiday that was established on June 5, 1972 by the UN General Assembly, and is celebrated annually on this day throughout the world.

The scientific and practical conference in the field of environmental protection and international cooperation will be held in Ashgabat in a hybrid format. Representatives of relevant Turkmen and foreign structures will take part in its work.

The second forum, dedicated to the issues of effective water management for the sustainable development of water bodies in Central Asia, will be held jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The participants of the symposium will be representatives of the countries of the Central Asian region. Experts from the Republic of Korea will join the meeting via video link, the Deputy Prime Minister said.
