Myselves: a visual story about how one girl coped with her fears
The inner world of a person consists of his thoughts, feelings, memories, dreams, desires, values, beliefs, tastes and interests. Revealing this world with the help of digital and interactive technologies on stage is not just an addition to the traditional theater, but a new way of conveying emotions to the audience.
Such a performance demonstrates not only visual and sound effects, but also engages the audience in emotional experiences through a dialogue with the main character performed by the dancer Even Duguet in the performance of Myself, which was presented in Ashgabat.
The performance, which was brought to the Turkmen capital by the French group K. Danse, captivated the audience with its psychological acuteness and technological novelty, which was facilitated by the use of a digital visual and sound device specially developed by the InfoMus Casa Paganini research center (Genoa, Italy).
At the very beginning of the performance, the heroine appeared in a stationary state. When white sparks began to appear on the screen, the only stage decoration, scattering and merging, they seem to make this static image come to life, immersing the viewer in the inner struggle of the character with his problems and fears.
The performance was a dialogue between a dancer and a digital device that responds to her movements and voice. The heroine appears in different aspects of her personality: from an innocent girl to an aggressive woman. Viewers witness the process of self-discovery and self-destruction, rebirth and self-liberation of the heroine, who managed to overcome her doubts.
The performance of Myself is not just a choreographic performance, but a philosophical reflection on human nature, on the complexity and versatility of personality, on the search for one's self in the modern world.
The performance evokes different emotions in the audience: from curiosity and surprise to fear and sympathy, forcing them to think about themselves, about their choice and its consequences. Theatrical performance using digital and interactive technologies on stage is a new level of emotionality, which is achieved by combining the artistic talent of actors and directors with advanced technological solutions. It amazes, excites and inspires.
"This project was created thanks to the close collaboration between Antoine Schmid, a digital artist, the author of a visual and digital device," Jean-Marc Matho, the choreographer of this performance, told ORIENT. - We wanted to create a relationship between modern technology and man by showing how it works. I think we succeeded. We practiced every step so that the dancer could live through the complexity of history and show the versatility of the inner world of a person, in which there is always a path to light.
