Kazakhstan is ready to provide the necessary infrastructure for gas transit from Russia to Uzbekistan. The Minister of Energy of the Republic Almasadam Satkaliyev said this at a meeting on the state of the gas industry in the Kazakh parliament.

"Already in the autumn-winter season next year, this infrastructure will be ready," the head of the department said, adding that negotiations on gas volumes and prices between Uzbekistan and Gazprom are continuing today.

Russia made a proposal to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to create a "triple gas union" in November last year in order to coordinate the commercial interests of the three states in the gas sector.
