Meta and Microsoft have introduced a large language model of artificial intelligence Llama 2 for commercial and research purposes.

Llama 2 allows companies to customize the technology for their own purposes, in particular to create chatbots or image generators. Thanks to this, third-party developers will be able to check it for inaccuracies and other shortcomings.

Llama 2 is distributed for free, and its contextual length has been doubled compared to the previous version. It also surpasses other open source language models in external indicators such as reasoning tests, coding, qualifications and knowledge.

Microsoft provides this model through the Azure AI catalog for use in cloud tools such as content filtering. The tool can also work directly on a Windows PC.

The first version of the Llama model was intended exclusively for scientists and researchers.
