The judoka of the national team of Turkmenistan Dilara Kandymova became the owner of the bronze medal of the junior World Championship, which takes place from August 23 to 27 in Zagreb (Croatia).

The athlete was awarded a bronze medal in the weight category up to 40 kg. In the preliminary round, Kandymova defeated Azerbaijani Nigar Mamishova.

At the next stage of the tournament, the Turkmen judoka was defeated by Patricia Tomankova from Slovakia, getting into the round of "consolation" duels.

In them, Kandymova was stronger than Tunisian Narges Haddezhi and Frenchwoman Matilda Aurel, thereby winning the bronze medal of the championship.

The gold award of the championship in the weight category up to 40 kg went to the Slovak judoka Patricia Tomankova. The second place was taken by the representative of Kazakhstan Sabina Yuldashbekova. In addition to Dilara Kandymova, Nina Auer from Austria took third place.

It is worth noting that Dilara Kandymova in early August became the bronze medalist of the II CIS Games held in Belarus, and today she has risen to the podium of the Junior World Championship.

Turkmenistan's national team is represented by 16 judoists at the Junior World Championship. In total, about six hundred athletes from 64 countries take part in the tournament.
