The Ambassador of Turkmenistan gave a briefing at the Diplomatic College of Europe, headed by Mogherini


The European External Action Service (EU Foreign Office) has convened a meeting in the Belgian city of Bruges to discuss the development of a special training program for diplomats and officials from Central Asian countries. The program is aimed at deepening their understanding of the key directions of EU policy in relation to the Central Asian region.

Organized by EEAS (European External Action Service), a meeting with ambassadors of Central Asian countries took place on Friday, September 22, at the College of Europe - an institute for postgraduate education and training of university graduates from different European countries for careers related to cooperation and integration. Its current rector is Federica Mogherini, who previously served as the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission.

In addition to her, the collegial meeting was also attended by the Managing Director for Europe and Central Asia (EEAS EURCA), advisers to the EU Special Representative for Central Asia and other representatives of the EU foreign policy department.
A seminar on the topic of EU-Central Asia dialogue was held under the chairmanship of Mogherini with the participation of junior diplomats of the European Diplomatic Academy. During the event, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Belgium Sapar Palvanov held a briefing for students of the College of Europe on issues, highlighting in detail the progress in relations between Central Asia and the EU, intra-regional integration of Central Asia and the role of Turkmenistan in these processes.

The meeting ended with a question and answer session, during which the topics of security in Afghanistan, EU projects in Central Asia and others were touched upon. According to the general opinion of the participants, this informative session allowed young diplomats from various EU member states to gain a deeper understanding of the Central Asian region, its internal dynamics and priorities for external cooperation.
