The European Investment Bank will receive political support to open offices in Central Asian countries


During the 19th Central Asia–European Union Ministerial Meeting, a Roadmap for Deepening Cooperation between Central Asian States and the European Union was presented.
A large block of points in it is devoted to the development of economic ties. In particular, among the actions in this direction are the organization of regular meetings of experts and high-ranking officials on economic cooperation, the study of the possibility of holding industrial and technological exhibitions within the framework of the EU-Central Asia Economic Forum.
In its approach to expanding the partnership, the EU team outlined support for investment operations of leading European companies in Central Asia.
The EU also intends to support the establishment of European business associations in Central Asia and associations of Central Asian business in European countries and expressed its readiness to promote activities aimed at raising awareness of European companies about trade opportunities in the Central Asian region.
In addition, the European Union aims to promote the development of skills and potential of Central Asian exporters to work in the EU market and to provide political support for the opening of offices of the European Investment Bank in Central Asian countries.
The roadmap states that the EU will support other relevant initiatives to mobilize the private sector and improve private companies' access to finance, develop the entrepreneurial abilities of young people, unlock commercial potential in industries such as tourism, introduce green solutions throughout the value chain and promote the digital transformation of the economy.
