Rovshen Nepesov, one of the most talented contemporary composers and conductors of Turkmenistan, celebrates his birthday on November 2. His music is played on various stages, TV channels and radio stations performed by famous pop stars and symphony orchestras.

From the family of a writer and teacher
Rovshen Nepesov was born in 1976 in Ashgabat in the family of the writer, Doctor of Philology Ovezdurdy Nepesov. His mother, Mive Nepesova, was a teacher of the Turkmen language and literature.
Since childhood, Rovshen showed interest in music and learned to play piano and percussion instruments. At an early age, he entered a music school, where he gained extensive knowledge in various musical disciplines.
In 1994, Nepesov entered the Turkmen National Conservatory, where he continued his education in composition and opera and symphony conducting.
For five years he studied with the venerable Turkmen composer Rejep Allayarov, who for many years held the post of rector of the conservatory. Until now, the trace of his mentor is clearly traced in the works of Nepesov. In turn, Rovshen studied conducting art optionally with the prominent Turkmen conductor Nury Muhatov.
After the successful completion of his studies, the creative life of the young musician began to boil with renewed vigor. He started working at the Turkmen Opera and Ballet Theater named after Magtymguly, and then founded his own orchestra. Nepesov actively performed with him both in Turkmenistan and toured outside the country, glorifying his native culture.
A versatile creator
Rovshen Nepesov is the author of dozens of works of different genres: symphonies, concerts, poems, overtures, suites, plays, arrangements, etc. His music is distinguished by expressiveness, originality and melody. Last year, a grandiose symphony concert was organized for the maestro’s anniversary, where his recent compositions were performed. Among them is a monumental symphony dedicated to the Hero–Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and an inspired poem in honor of the poet Yunus Emre.
The composer’s work covers a variety of genres. For example, he writes music for famous pop artists of Turkmenistan. It is thanks to his bright, memorable melodies that such artists as Selbi Tuvakgylyjhova, Lachin Mammedova, Maral Durdyeva and many others have gained popularity. Nepesov’s hits immediately fell in love with the people and were included in the golden fund of Turkmen music for a long time.
