Measures for the development of the Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Turkey corridor were agreed in Istanbul


The first meeting of the railway administrations of the countries participating in the multimodal transport corridor “Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan – Iran – Turkey” was held in Istanbul, where important issues related to the development of this transport route were discussed, the information and analytical media center of Uzbekistan Temir Yollari JSC reports.
The main topic of discussion was the introduction of competitive tariffs on the railway and the increase in traffic along the route. The parties came to the conclusion that establishing affordable and competitive prices for transportation will help increase the volume of cargo transportation.
During the meeting, a corresponding Protocol was signed between the railway administrations of the participating countries. This document was an important step in the development of the transport corridor, as it consolidates the agreement of all parties to cooperate and joint efforts for the successful implementation of this project.
The protocol on the formation of the transport corridor “Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan – Iran – Turkey” was signed within the framework of the 12th meeting of the ministers of transport of the member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization. This corridor is an important element in the development of transport infrastructure and trade relations between the countries of the region.
The development of this multimodal transport route will help strengthen economic ties and expand trade potential between Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran and Turkey.
