The Presidents of Turkmenistan and Iran had a telephone conversation


A telephone conversation between President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Ebrahim Raisi took place on Thursday, January 4.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that he received with great regret the news of a terrorist attack in the city of Kerman, which led to numerous casualties and injuries, as reported in the news release of the Turkmen State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.
National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also expresses deep condolences to you and the entire fraternal Iranian people in connection with the tragic event, the head of Turkmenistan said.
The President of Turkmenistan expressed deep sympathy and conveyed words of support at this difficult moment to the families and friends of the victims.
In response, Raisi, on behalf of the people of Iran and on his own behalf, expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the empathy in these difficult times.
Continuing the conversation, the interlocutors stated that relations between the two countries and peoples have been enriched with new content in recent years and are developing on the basis of the principles of mutual respect both in a bilateral format and within the framework of international organizations.
It was noted that Iran is one of the most important countries with which Turkmenistan traditionally maintains trade and economic relations. At the same time, the emphasis was placed on the prospects for cooperation in the fuel and energy complex, in the transport and communications sector, in the field of light industry, agriculture and processing industries.
