The Turkmen consul and the governor of Istanbul discussed the establishment of sister city ties between the cities


Consul General of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Turkey Muhammetnur Ovezov met on Monday, January 15, with Governor of Istanbul Davut Gul.
During the meeting, the parties discussed interaction in the trade, economic and humanitarian spheres, paying attention to the establishment of twinning ties between the municipalities of the two countries, including the prospects for cooperation between the cities of Arkadag and Istanbul. A separate topic was the holding of cultural events aimed at supporting the Turkmen diaspora in Istanbul, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan said in a statement.

The Consul General presented Davut Gul with President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s book “Youth is the Support of the Motherland,” noting the great importance that Turkmenistan attaches to youth issues and supporting their participation in the development of the state.
An exchange of views also took place on the plan of joint events for 2024 related to the celebration of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi.
