A meeting with the head of the Russian Orthodox Church was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan
On Tuesday, January 16, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Mahri Bashimova met with Kakha Imnadze, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Head of the Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia.
During the conversation, the Deputy Head of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry noted the special importance of the center for preventive diplomacy for the entire Central Asian region in promoting the agenda of peace, cooperation and mutual understanding between the countries. She also spoke about Turkmenistan's interest in strengthening the role of the RCPCA as a key institution in promoting mechanisms and processes of multilateral diplomacy, examples of which are the Dialogue of Women in Central Asian countries, the UN Counter-Terrorism Office and the development of joint programs on security, education and training of civil servants.
The parties also expressed interest in the implementation of the initiatives put forward by Turkmenistan at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, stressing the need for an integrated approach to addressing key issues on the global agenda. At the end of the meeting, the interlocutors raised the issue of the possible holding of joint events in the near future.
